This website showcases a unique collection of "Monq-Card," "文句カード" in Japanese, also known as "78s Insert Cards," which were associated with SP (78 r.p.m.) records in Japan. These cards provide a glimpse into history, primarily dating from the early Showa period to just after World War II.
Through careful restoration, including cleaning and repairs, these previously neglected cards have been preserved and digitized. Although SP records remain popular, the rarity of these insert cards adds to their historical significance.
This site aims to attract those with an interest in SP records and highlights the cultural value of these fragile pieces of paper, akin to modern lyric sheets, but unique in their legacy.
"MonqCard" is my own unique English expression that comes from the pronunciation of the Japanese word "monkukado," which means "describing-words-and-lyric-card."
